The Sons of History podcast is back for its second season. You may be wondering, “How long will the second season be if the first one was nearly 150 episodes?”
Great question. We have decided to change the format of the podcast, and along with that, we have decided to create seasons for the show so that we can have breaks in between. These breaks will provide us with ample opportunity to work on other projects, but also line up guests for the show. During this recent break, we have indeed made the most of it.
We have shot the first half of our roadtrip history documentary on Dwight D. Eisenhower and Chester W. Nimitz and their respective Texas birthplaces: Denison and Fredericksburg. By the end of next week, Sept. 17, we will have completed the second half of the shoot in Fredericksburg.
We have also lined up some amazing guests for our upcoming podcast season which will extend from Sept. 13 to Dec. 4. Here are just some of our guests:
Dr. Mary Grabar - resident fellow at the Alexander Hamilton Institute, and author of Debunking Howard Zinn and her latest Debunking The 1619 Project.
Mike Duncan - creator of The History of Rome podcast and the author of The Storm Before the Storm, discussing the Roman Republic, and Hero of Two Worlds about Marquis de Lafayette
Dr. Stephen L. Hardin - professor of history at McMurry University, and author of numerous Texas history works, including the quintessential piece The Texian Iliad
Judge Ken Wise - justice for Texas’s 14th Circuit Court of Appeals, and creator of the Wise About Texas podcast
Melanie Kirkpatrick - author of numerous works, including Thanksgiving and her most recent Lady Editor
Wilfred McClay - G.T. and Libby Blankenship Chair in the History of Liberty at the University of Oklahoma, and the author of numerous works, including his landmark history textbook Land of Hope
Arthur Herman - senior fellow and director of the Quantum Alliance Initiative at the Hudson Institute, and the author of numerous works, including How the Scots Invented the Modern World and his latest The Viking Heart
James Haley - author of numerous books, including his latest Bliven Putnam naval historical fiction series
